Greetings,
i would like to stay in contact with the Church Council in order for us to carry on with the business of the Congregation. I know individually many of you have been carrying on doing the church business so thank you for that. I thank God that all of us got out safely and at this time are being cared for. If you know of anybody that needs support please let us know. I will list some things that I know are currently underway and if you know of any others please add them to the list below. I don’t have Mikeals email so somebody please copy him.
ELDERS
Accommodations
I have been hearing from Sam Lee that he and Greg have been helping people find accommodations for members thank you for that. Please keep us informed where everyone is at and provide their contact information. If you know of anybody else who needs support please let us know.
Financial support
There has been a lot of support provided for our members through the Red Cross and others. If you are aware of people who need additional support please let us know. I attended a Church Service in Leduc last week and there were many people who want to help. I am sure there are similar people in all congregations who feel the same.
Spiritual support – If you know of anybody who is struggling spiritually during this time please let us know so we can connect them with a local pastor.
TRUSTEES Issues
Church Insurance- Art has made contact with the insurance company. Art please give us an update of where you are at with insurance issues and what is required.
CRA Submission- We will be late with our submission to CRA. Greg has prepared a letter for Doug to sign to send to them asking for an extension. Doug will go to the District office on Monday to sign the letter and send it off.
Sale of the building – Doug has been in contact with Colliers. This will be on-hold until we can get back into town and know what state the building is in.
Council meetings- If you have ideas of how we can have council meetings please let us know. We could do it through a phone conference call if that would work. If the majority of people are in the Edmonton area we could ask district office for the use of a meeting room. Please give me you suggestions.
Other business
please copy us on other issues concerns that need to be dealt with through the council. I do appreciate the work all of you have been doing behind the scenes on behalf of the congregations.
Please keep the council informed of the things you are doing through e-mail until we get a meeting format set up.
I thank God for all the blessings God has given us during this time of crisis. I pray that God would continue to give us strength and lead us until we are all safely back home. In Christ we pray.
